The Good Stuff, Day 11

THE GOOD STUFF - DAY 11: JANUARY 15, 2017

* WE MADE IT TO CHURCH
We were late again, but we made it

* MY LESSON WENT GREAT
My primary lesson went well. I've been blessed with a great class this year and an awesome helper and the kids seemed to really pay attention.

* WE HAD A QUIET DAY AT HOME

* I PLAYED GAMES WITH ALMOST ALL THE KIDS
It started with a dice game, where I lost some and won some. We ended with a version of Love Letter called Adventure Time: Love Letter and I won.

* OUR HOME TEACHERS CAME
One of our best friends is our home teacher and so I find it kind of funny that he actually comes to visit. But, he knows the value of fulfilling this calling correctly and makes sure that we know he cares. They shared a very good lesson and enjoyed the visit.

The Good Stuff, Day 10

THE GOOD STUFF - DAY 10: JANUARY 14, 2017

* WE DID A GOOD DEED FOR ERIC'S BROTHER/MOM
The car got a flat tire. While his brother put the spare tire on, a new tired needed to be bought. Eric's mom is out of state and couldn't do it, but wanted it done at Costco. Eric's brother isn't a member, so we took the drive and got new tires on the car.

* WE HAD COSTCO PIZZA FOR LUNCH

* WE AVOIDED CAR ACCIDENTS
People in the area we were in DO NOT know how to drive and there were a few times an accident could've happened, but it didn't, so we were good.

* WE MANAGED TO GET SOME LONG JOHNS FOR LEX
He thinks he should go on a winter campout or something...

* ERIC AND I HAD A FUN NIGHT PLAYING A D&D KNOCKOFF GAME
It's called Mutants and Masterminds and it's D&D with superheroes. I'm a psychic character and had an awesome time flinging incapacitated minions at their villian master. Don't ask me why I decided to play. Partly it's so that I can spend more time with my husband.

The Good Stuff, Day 9

THE GOOD STUFF - DAY 9: JANUARY 13, 2017

* I GOT TO MEET MY NEW NIECE
And a huge shout out to Eric for being my driver. To get to the hospital it required travelling on the freeway and to an extremely crazy, busy city. Not to mention it was dark and winter. HAHAHA. But my niece is such a cutie and definitely looks like she belongs.

* WE GOT CHICK-FIL-A FOR DINNER

* MY CHICKEN SANDWICH WAS SHAPED LIKE A HEART
Totally just means it was meant for me.

* TANIS WENT ON HIS FIRST DATE UNCHAPERONED BY MOM & DAD, AND IT WAS A BLIND DATE
He's not the take charge kind of kid, so I was thankful one of his buddies set the whole thing up. The original plan was to go bowling, but when the kid realized he didn't have any money - they figured out something else to do. They played board games and then made cookies. Tanis said he had a lot of fun.

* I WAS IN BED BY ABOUT 10:00
This is very rare, but things worked out so nicely that I was able to get to bed early. Wish I could say I slept well - but I'll take what I can get.

The Good Stuff, Day 8

THE GOOD STUFF - DAY 8: JANUARY 12, 2017

* ZACH WAS IN BETTER SPIRITS
He still had a couple of messy diapers, but he was more like himself and played for quite a bit today. Not so much snuggling happening.

* ALL THE KIDS WENT TO BED AT A GOOD TIME
This gave Eric and I a chance to relax and watch a show before bed without interruptions.

* LAUNDRY SCHEDULE WAS ON TRACK

* I SHOVELED THE DRIVEWAY AND SIDEWALKS
I was thankful it was fairly wet snow, it made it easy to remove.

* JACE WAS SUPER POLITE
I did something super simple for Jace this morning, but he said thank-you.

* MY NIECE WAS BORN
We've all been awaiting her arrival and are glad she was a girl. The boys outnumber the girls in this family, so it was fun to have another girl. I can't wait to meet her!

The Good Stuff, Day 7

THE GOOD STUFF - DAY 7: JANUARY 11, 2017

* I WENT TO MY VOICE LESSON
After probably a good month off (for various reasons on my part and the teachers), I finally got back. I got to choose new music, which I'm not thrilled about, but I think they will be good songs that will challenge me and force me to work on technique a little more.

* I HAD A NAP
I had a headache starting and hadn't slept well, so I was tired. As soon as Zach went down for his nap, I took one too. It was only possible because Eric was working from home so he could keep an eye on Jace. I woke up headache free.

* LOTS OF SNUGGLE TIME, AGAIN
Zach still isn't feeling well and just wanted to snuggle. I didn't complain too much. I would've snuggled with him while I took my nap, but he tosses and turns way too much!

* KEPT UP ON LAUNDRY
This is huge for me. When we first moved in, I had a great schedule for laundry. It was easy and I kept up on it easily. Eventually, life got in the way and it all went down the chute. Recently, I've been able to get back on track and I'm doing good keeping up.

* I GOT NATE TO PACK MEETING
Nate loves Scouts and I don't love Pack Meeting. About a half hour before Pack Meeting, I realized it was Pack Meeting and I remembered Nate talking about Scouts yesterday. So, even though I couldn't go (snuggly baby, couldn't go anywhere) I found a friend who was willing to take him with her boys. I'm so thankful for her and her friendship.

* HAD A FUN NIGHT WITH THE KIDS
After dinner, I just took some time to interact with a few of the kids. I watched Shaylyn play a memory game with Jace that he got for Christmas. I watched Zach playing for a bit (medicine does wonders), even being slightly naughty. Lex had me laughing with McNugget names he came up with for the family members. Some of which include: McCubNugget, McAwesomeNugget, McFunNugget, McPrettyNugget, McFartNugget and a couple others I don't want to mention. I got the choice of: McMomNugget, McOldNugget or McHairNugget.

* I MADE LUNCH
Usually when Eric is home, I let him figure out lunch. He likes to eat earlier than I do, so it just happens that way. Today, I figured it out and made it AND surprised Eric. It was simple, Grilled Cheese. But it was delicious!

The Good Stuff, Day 6

THE GOOD STUFF - DAY 6: JANUARY 10, 2017

* I DID SOME GROCERY SHOPPING

* I WENT ALONE
Thanks to awesome teenagers, who are willing to watch their siblings for a bit. I hate trying to go to the store with kids in tow.

* FROM THE TIME I LEFT THE HOUSE TO THE THE TIME I GOT BACK, I ONLY TOOK AN HOUR
I was in, out and on my way!

* I DIDN'T GET PULLED OVER
There were a few cops roaming the city at the same time as I was.

* STILL DOING GOOD GETTING THE FAMILY BLOG UPDATED

* I FOLDED ALL THE LOADS OF LAUNDRY THAT I DID

* LOTS OF SNUGGLE TIME WITH ZACH
Zach is feeling a little off, he doesn't seem to have much energy. So, all he wanted was to snuggle. I didn't complain too much.

The Good Stuff, Day 5

THE GOOD STUFF - DAY 5: JANUARY 9, 2017

If there's one thing I've learned from doing this, so far - it's that I don't do much. Hahaha! A lot of my life is lived at home taking care of little people. So here's what the 9th had in store for me.

* I PLAYED A NEW GAME
Even though it was Star Trek themed, I enjoyed it.

* WE PLAYED THE NEW GAME WITH NEW FRIENDS
Okay, so technically Eric's known the couple for awhile and I've known the husband for a little bit of time. I've met his wife two or three other times at different functions, but this was the first time we ever did something with just the four of us. They are pretty cool people.

* I GOT MORE BLOG ENTRIES DONE FOR THE FAMILY BLOG

* I STARTED THE BOOK CLUB BOOK FOR JANUARY, THE POETRY SELECTION
I don't remember The Raven being so long. But then again, I read it just before bed and I was pretty tired. But, I got more out of it than I ever have before.

* I FOLDED ALL THE LAUNDRY THAT NEEDED FOLDING
